The volume estimates in Kubla Cubed are displayed on the top left of the screen for each phase. A more detailed breakdown can be obtained when exporting
a project to a spreadsheet or a report. There are also a number of different measurement tools that can be used to provide
additional information to the user and others :
-
Cursor Label: As the mouse is moved around a project the label updates in real time with information in regard to the
point underneath the cursor. X and Y co-ordinates, existing\proposed elevations and cut\fill values can be displayed.
The label options can be customised to show only the information you require. For more details see
Cursor Label.
-
Quick Measure Tool: By holding down the 'M' key on the keyboard whilst moving the mouse the measure tool is activated. It is used
to give a linear measurement between two points much like a ruler. Options are available to copy the results of a measurement to the
clipboard. For more details see
Quick Measure Tool.
-
Measurements Panel: The measurement panel allows you to add permanent measurements into your project that are saved with the project and
will be included in the reports and spreadsheet outputs. This is useful for measuring paving areas, curb lengths etc... Elements are available
to measure counts, lengths and areas. Also in this panel you can add a 'Volume Region' element that allows a breakdown of the cut\fill within
a specific region in the earthworks estimation summary. For more details see
Measurements Panel.
Mostly the cursor label and quick measure tool are for doing one-off and quick checks of elevations and scale. The measurements panel is
intended mostly for permanantly recording the various non-earthworks assets on the site and reporting cut\fill in more detail.
